Layout
The pattern layout must go with the line of sight, which is the position from which someone will typically view the pattern. Next, it is important to use borders to end all patterns. (You don’t want your pattern to die off.) It is of utmost importance that the pattern looks natural and is flush with the surrounding features of the property.

Reheat
Once the pattern layout has been established, the process of reheating the asphalt begins. The typical reheating time, depending on outside temperature and asphalt mix, is between 3 and 4 minutes. About 1 to 2 inches of the asphalt section will stay hot for about 3 to 4 minutes.

Imprinting (Included hand tooling)
Once the pattern has been imprinted, it is crucial to ensure that all grout lines are at a consistent depth. Whenever a pattern is tied into a border (regardless of the method of edging used), the grout lines must come to a definite stop, with no fading out. Curves or slightly unprintable areas need to be hand tooled with the grout line chisel and a small sledgehammer.

Coating (2 coats-drying time)
1. Mist the surface with the backpack sprayer (depending on surface temperature).
2. Spray the first coat of SP50 Traffic Formulation with Traffic Supplement additive for long lasting life.
3. Broom the SP50 Traffic Formulation to ensure full coverage in grout lines and over stamped brick.
4. Roll over broomed first coat to ensure smooth finish and quality.
5. Spray the second coat of SP50 with a light application.
6. Finish roll the SP50 light application.
7. Once the two coats of SP50 have gone down and are dry to the touch, we apply SP50 Sealer Application (the third coat).
8. Once the sealer has had 6-8 hours to dry, the subject area will be finished.
